Learning objectives for Meditation and Mindfulness in the Workplace are:

1. Learn some of the basic science behind meditation
2. Identify the benefits of a meditation practice (or even of just one session!)
3. Practice applications/activities for each participants' personal emotional 'toolbox' for use later

Buffy SchlesingerAccording to the American Institute of Stress, 80% of workers feel stress on the job, nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress and 42% say their coworkers need such help. Job stress is also strongly correlated to health complaints than it is to financial or family problems. Additionally, stress takes away the moment-to-moment awareness, also known as mindfulness, which can prevent an individual from enjoying life to its fullest potential. In this seminar, Buffy Schlesinger will explore the importance of mediation and share exercises and activities to help manage difficult emotions and tough situations.

Buffy Schlesinger is the owner and founder of Growing Edge. The 'growing edge' is the place in a yoga pose or in life where you feel you can't go any further...but then you do. That feeling of pride and ownership you get from pushing through your own growing edge is what her company is all about - whether teaching adults how to meditate or teaching kids yoga/meditation, this is her underlying philosophy.
