Tia Brisco, LMFTThe course will be on 3/22/19 from 9am-11am and will be taught classroom style. Over the next decade, an estimated 500,000 teens (50,000 each year) with autism, will enter adulthood. Although, nearly half of 25-year-olds with autism have never held a paying job, the workplace does have a large group of individuals on the Autism spectrum. Autistic individuals tend to have a specialist mind, which means that they excel in one area but do poorly in another. This can create unique issues that need to be addressed by HR, coworkers and providers when problems arise. In this seminar, Tia Brisco, LMFT, will explore the issues involved with employing an individual on the autistic spectrum.

Tia Brisco is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Tia specializes multi-cultural based treatment and working with children in under-served communities. She currently operates a private practice in Northridge, CA, where she provides child/adolescent therapy, family therapy, and treatment for college students. Before becoming a therapist, Tia taught special education preschool for six years, where her love for diversity and public speaking fostered. Tia continues to provide trainings and workshops throughout Los Angeles county to assist clinicians in working with diverse populations.
