“Answering the Call” – Utilizing the Hero Myth in Treating Addiction”
presented by David Ripley, Program Director at Casa de las Amigas.

April 25, 2014

Please join us for a fascinating presentation by David Ripley, Program Director at Casa de las Amigas.  David will reference The Hero’s Journey by Joseph Campbell, and The Heroine’s Journey by Maureen Murdock.  Utilizing this myth in conjunction with individual therapy and interventions such as the twelve-step program Alcoholics Anonymous adds depth to the personal narrative of the addict, assisting him or her in achieving lasting recovery.  David will address how the individual may act out at work and what the individual will need from EAP in the recovery process.

David Ripley is currently the Program Director at Casa de las Amigas.  He is a certified member of the California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors and holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College.  David is currently working toward a PhD in Jungian Depth Psychology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute.
