Please join us for a very informative and lively presentation on “Elevating Ethical Awareness”.
We will explore a framework for making ethical decisions and discuss case examples straight from the front lines of EAP. We will discuss the challenges of maintaining confidentiality within an EAP framework; explore the challenges of maintaining boundaries and avoiding conflict of interest situations. We will discuss ethical consideration when making referrals and how to determine the difference between a legal issue and an ethical issue. This presentation is approved for 2 hours of PDH (Professional Development Hours) for Doman I and CEAP candidates and CEAP renewals, and 2 hours of CEU from the California BBS, NASW, and NCAA.
Our presenters will be Cynthia Cooper, MFT, CEAP and Dr. Chuck Litman, MFT. Cynthia is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional. She has 20 years’ experience in the EAP field and specializes in addictions, workplace resolution, critical incident & disaster response. She is currently the Employee and Physician Assistance Program Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center and Pasadena Regional Offices. She also provides EAP consulting and has a private practice in Toluca Lake and Pasadena. Dr. Litman is the EAP for Health Net California and has a private practice in Sherman oaks specializing in Trauma reactions, Stress and Addictions, and is certified in TFT, CISM, and Anger Management Facilitator. Dr. Litman also has a law enforcement background and works with municipal law enforcement agencies and also integrates mindfulness and CBT with his clients.
